Jennifer Thiessen

Jennifer Thiessen is known for performances of new compositions and improvisations on the viola and viola d’amore. She is singer-songwriter Daily Alice, an avid writer of poetic prose, and was suddenlyLISTEN’s Artist-in-Residence in 2020. She loves one-on-one conversations with her duos: the contemporary Park Sounds with percussionist Ben Reimer, the experimental S[ILK]S with Andrea Young, and the JUNO-nominated improv duo Toninato/Thiessen. She collaborates on shows and recordings with a wide variety of creative musicians and ensembles across Canada. Based in Montreal for two decades, Jennifer returns to her Manitoba home in 2021. From within a multiplicity of artistic adventures, she remains grounded in a passion to create meaningful experiences.
